Cerro Castillo Area

This area, located approximately at one hour and a half approximately so much of the city of Coyhaique as of Balmaceda’s Airport, is the paradise for the lovers of the fishing lake. The principal characteristic of this area corresponds to that in a fenced radius we find an impressive diversity of lakes and lagoons of all kinds and sizes. In addition, the General Carrera Lake and Ibáñez River are near and can be fished from this area in the dates of major productivity.

The fishing in the lakes of this zone principally is realized by terrestrial fly type, but habitually the conditions allow to be able to realize sight fishing to hunt  using the finest techniques. Many of the Lagos can be fished so much embarked like wading, looking for the trout that cross the shores and beaches in search of food. We mostly find brown trout with averages consistent for on 16-18 inches up to trophies for on 25 inches.

Some of the lakes we fish in this area are the Tamango Lake, Ardillas Lake, Alto Lake, etc.

In addition to the above, is a highly attractive sector scenically, because as the name implies, the area is under the gaze of the solid imposing Cerro Castillo and its mountain range. For non-fishermen there is a large number of paths that can be performed, horseback rides and visits to sectors where vestiges of the ancient inhabitants of the area, the tehuelches.

This program can be taken only as a short program (4 days / 3 nights) or can be combined with the programs of Baker and Coyhaique. It should be noted that this is a program focused on fishing lakes; however there are alternatives for rivers and streams nearby.
